Sutherland Design Agency is a California Corporation founded by our Creative Director & Project Manager, Dave Sutherland. Since we began in the late 80’s we have had a passion for bringing form and function to the physical space. We were first introduced to the trade show industry in the 90’s and have made it our soul focus. Our design approach and technical expertise is what sets us apart.

Our team consists of a diverse group of individuals, each bringing their own specialized skill. With over 20 years of experience we have perfected the roles employees, free-lancers, vendors, and interns play in the success of your project.



SDA is proud to play a role in supporting local youth. Our Career Development Program is designed for students grades 11th-12th seeking real life work experience in the design field prior to college.

The first time I came to the SDA facility it was to do some Free-Lance work. As soon as I entered the small Casita at Dave Sutherland’s residence I was quickly reminded of the creative facilities usually found in Metropolitan Cities. When Dave took me on the nickel tour, I could see the companies passion for all things relating to spatial design, from the colors, to the lighting, to the materials used, each space had both form and function. As for Dave’s private office, it couldn’t have been much larger than 100 square feet and yet it had a true executive feel, with a desk, conference area, cabinets, and a full media play back system. I have worked with many companies, but none that live their passion like SDA.
